Today’s Dispatch
Three signals worth your attention.
- Frédéric Arnault inaugurates Loro Piana's new Ghemme knitwear plant, the largest investment in the house's history.
- Skims opens its first European flagship on Regent Street after a soft opening in July.
- Steven Kolb resigns as CFDA chief executive after a filmed altercation with PETA protestors.
Loro Piana Opens Ghemme Knitwear Plant
Loro Piana has opened an 8,000-square-metre knitwear facility at Ghemme in Piedmont, an outlay of several tens of millions of euros and the biggest in the house's history. CEO Frédéric Arnault led the inauguration.
Why It Matters
Loro Piana's valuation rose from about €2 billion when LVMH bought it in 2013 to roughly €11 billion, and the Ghemme investment ties the next phase of that growth to capacity the house owns outright.
The Read
Ghemme was three years in the making and will employ 300 people, a capacity commitment made while the luxury sector still lacks a recovery.
LVMH lifted its holding from 85% to 94% with a €1 billion purchase of further shares, so the industrial spending runs alongside an owner adding to its position.
Loro Piana is reducing store count on a net basis this year, to 179 stores and concessions globally, while analyst estimates put annual sales just under €3 billion.
Loro Piana, whose controlling shareholder says its only problem is growing too fast, is on track to become LVMH's third-largest fashion and leather goods brand behind Louis Vuitton and Dior.

Frequently asked questions.
Who is Sammy built for?
Sammy is built for people across fast-moving luxury businesses: leadership and brand, commercial, partnerships, marketing and operations. For those who don't have time to scroll, sift or second-guess, but still need to know what matters and what it changes.
What sources does Sammy use?
Sammy monitors trusted public and licensed sources across your sector, including brand activity, competitors, market shifts, culture and commerce. Every source is selected for relevance, not volume, and trust tiered by hand.
Does Sammy access private client data?
No. Sammy does not access private emails, documents or internal systems. It operates using public and compliant sources only. The only things Sammy knows about you are your email address, your sector and your role.
How secure is Sammy?
Sammy is built with security and discretion at its core. Data handling is fully compliant and no sensitive or private information is accessed or stored.
What exactly does Sammy deliver each day?
A clear, personalised daily briefing by 8am UK time, Monday to Friday. Each story carries what happened, why it matters and what it changes, so you can quickly understand the impact on your role, sector or business. Mondays cover the weekend.
How does Sammy tailor the briefing to me?
Sammy is configured around your sector and your role. You choose both at signup and every story is read through that lens, so a finance lead and a brand director get different briefings from the same morning's news. Change either at any time from your account.
Can multiple team members share access?
Team plans are coming soon and cannot be bought yet. We are shaping them with the first desks that ask, so tell us what yours needs: human@agentsammy.ai
What are the benefits of a Custom plan?
A Custom plan is built around one company: your own sectors, roles and sources, the questions only your business asks answered in the briefing, and a person on the other end, not a form. Custom is coming soon and cannot be bought yet. Tell us what you need: human@agentsammy.ai
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes. Your first two weeks include Pro: The Number and In The Room on every story, and the curated week. There is no card and no obligation to continue. Afterwards you keep Lite, which is free forever, or move to Pro.
What happens after the 14-day trial?
You can continue with Pro, or switch to Lite, which is free forever. There is no obligation to continue and nothing to cancel.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can change or cancel your plan at any time, and every briefing carries a one-click unsubscribe.
